HONOLULU (KHNL) -- The Myanmar Association of Hawaii has achieved reliable nongovernmental linkages for hurricane relief distribution in Myanmar.
The organization has found a way to get around the difficulty of getting relief to the survivors by using nongovernmental organizations and personal networks.
The Myanmar Association has developed three distribution linkages for monetary, non-monetary donations, and medical and pharmaceutical supplies to get the relief to Myanmar to distribute relief through in-country contacts and people with entry visas, including Buddhist monks and nuns.
With these linkages in place, the Myanmar Association believes that it can effectively and efficiently deliver relief to those in need.
The Association invites donations of money, medical and pharmaceutical supplies, and high value building supplies.
Donations may be sent to Myanmar Association of Hawaii, 720 N. King Street, Honolulu, HI 96817, phone number 851-7010.
