Aloha Cargo Shuts Down Operations

HONOLULU (KHNL) -- First passenger flights ended on Aloha Airlines.  Now Aloha Cargo operations will also shut down.

After the airlines shut down passenger operations, Aloha pilots raised the possibiility of a strike over contract disputes regarding the cargo operation.

But even the were floored by Monday's announcement.

According to pilots involved in the proceedings, it was announced that Aloha Airlines and GMAC which was providing money for the company will no longer finance the cargo operations.

The cargo division handles 85 percent of the Hawaii's air cargo, bringing necessities like bread and other items to neighbor islands.
