Plane Makes Hard Landing at Honolulu International Airport

HONOLULU (KHNL) -- A plane headed to Molokai made a hard landing at Honolulu International Airport Tuesday afternoon.

Two runways were shut down as the plane landed on it's belly.

The Department of Transportation says the landing gear got stuck inside the plane.

No one was hurt, but one of the engines caught on fire.

Crews were able to put it out right away.

The DOT says the aircraft is a Beech Twin Engine Cargo plane that's registered to Kamaka Air in Honolulu.

The plane was headed to Molokai from Honolulu when it ran into trouble.  The pilots had to turn around to make the crash landing.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the accident.
