HONOLULU (KHNL) -- A 16-year-old Honolulu harpist has been chosen to represent the USA at the 2008 World Harp Congress in Amsterdam this summer.

Currently a junior at Iolani School, Melody Lindsay has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe and made her world radio debut on Public Radio International.

Her goals for attending the 2008 World Harp Congress are to play well and to promote peace and global goodwill through music and friendship.

Lindsay will give a free preview concert on Sunday, April 27 at Kaimuki Christian Church from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

She will perform her World Harp program, music from countries around the world and two of her own compositions.

The public is invited to attend.
