Aloha's Contract Division Receives High Bid

HONOLULU (KHNL) -- A division of Aloha Airlines receives a high bid, which could mean jobs for laid off employees.

"Pacific Air Cargo" is offering $2.2 million for the carrier's "Contract Services Division."

The division provides customer service, baggage handling and ticket and ramp agents for foreign and U.S. airlines that fly to Hawaii.

It employs more than a thousand people statewide.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court has yet to decide the final outcome of the bid and Aloha's Air Cargo remains up for auction.
