HONOLULU (KHNL) -- Help is on the way for Del Monte workers and retirees in danger of losing their homes.
The Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation is making applications available to assist the employees.
To be eligible, applicants must have been employed by Del Monte Fresh Produce on the date of the announcement of closure on February 1, 2006 or retired from the company.
Applicants must show they are currently delinquent on their house payments or can show their mortgage or rent exceeds 30% of their gross household income.
Applications are available at the following three locations:
Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation, 677 Queen Street Ste. 300 in Honolulu from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 142, 451 Atkinson Drive in Honolulu.
Del Monte Fresh Produce Hawaii, 922-1770 Kunia Road in Kunia.
An informational meeting will be held on Sunday, April 20 at Kunia Gym at 1:00 p.m.
