Park Closed Due to Sulphur Dioxide Levels

HAWAII VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK (KHNL) -- Sulphur dioxide levels have reached the designated closure threshold in areas of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, forcing officials to close down the park until further notice.

Park officials say there is no immediate threat to anyone's safety.

The park will reopen when favorable winds return and sulphur dixode levels decrease in the area.
