HONOLULU (KHNL) - 182 new US citizens can finally call Hawaii ... home. They took the oath of allegiance Wednesday morning at the Mission Memorial Auditorium in downtown Honolulu.

With US Judge Robert Farias presiding, the naturalization program was the final step for the men and women who demonstrated their knowledge of, and support for the United States of America.

"It's an honor, it's a privilege, it's a great day for myself and for my family, my three children and especially my best friend Brenda Gregory and my husband who is not here because he is in the US Navy" said new citizen Shamin Gray.

Keynote speaker Mayor Mufi Hanneman welcomed the citizens, and told them, living out the american dream should be looked at, as both an opportunity and responsibility.
