Coast Guard Exercises Live Fire and Rescue Demonstration

HONOLULU (KHNL) -- The U.S. Coast Guard will conduct a comprehensive exercise that involves a helicopter, boats, pyrotechnics and the sounds of automatic weapons in Honolulu Harbor Wednesday night.

The exercise will involve a search and rescue hoist evolution between a HH-65 Dolphin helicopter and a Coast Guard boat and a security demonstration involving a Coast Guard boat and an unmarked "target boat."

Honolulu residents and bystanders are advised Wednesday's drill is only an exercise.

The demonstration will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
