HONOLULU (KHNL) -- A Honolulu journalist takes first place in the only all womens' foot race Sunday.

For 31 years, hundreds of women have run the Straub Womens' 10k. It's a 10 kilometer - or 6.2 mile- race from Kahala, through Kapiolani Park, and back.

Star Bulletin columnist Katherine Nichols won this year with a time of 38 minutes, 53 seconds.

This year, the race for womens' health is especially meaningful for race organizer KC Carlberg, a well known Oahu triathlete and coach. She is fighting ovarian cancer.
