Meat Recalled from Hawaii Schools

HONOLULU (KHNL) -- More than 260,000 pounds of meat from public and private schools statewide have been recalled.

The Department of Education says the product was placed on hold on January 30 and recalled on February 17.

The recall is at Level 2, the lowest level.  According to the DOE, there is a small probability of health consequences from eating the meat.

The DOE says the meat will be destroyed on Friday.
