Hawaii Marines Return from Iraq

MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII (KHNL) -- Hundreds of Hawaii Marines and Sailors are spending their first full day back with their families.

More than 250 Marines and Sailors with the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment returned home Thursday after completing a seven-month deployment to Iraq.

The welcome back signs were out along with tears of joy.

They were all happy to be reunited with loved ones but also feel, it's important to remember those soldiers still serving over seas.

"I just thought about my family, my newborn son. It just got me though everyday," said Cpl. Terron Skipper.

"They still need everybody calling them you know, their emails, packages, they appreciate everything over there," said Cpl.Aaron Guerral.

This homecoming is the final arrival of Marines coming back from Iraq.

In all, about 1,000 Marines and Sailors were deployed with this unit.
