KHSPAC Students Perform West Side Story

KAIMUKI (KHNL) -- Students at Kaimuki High School Performing Arts Center opens its 21st season with a new production of "West Side Story."

Drama teacher and director, Peggy-Anne Siegmund along with choreographer Deanna Luster and musical director Nanilisa Pascua will recreate the American classic.

West Side Story is a modern day Romeo and Juliet.  It's the tale of two young lovers, Tony and Maria, from opposite sides of New York City who struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice.

The production features more than 35 public school students.

West Side Story is showing on:

February 29, March 1, 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m.; March 9 at 3:00 p.m. at Kaimuki High School Theatre.

The cost is $5 for children and $10 for adults.
