HONOLULU (KHNL) -- A Windward Oahu woman brewed her way onto a beer label! Samuel Adams Beer Company held a home brewing contest, and Kaneohe's Lili Hess won. Hess created a "grape pale ale", which has juice from grapes and maple syrup.
Hess beat out more than 2,000 beer lovers to win the title. The variety pack, with Hess' face on the label, will be available at all the Foodland and Sack n' Save locations in the state starting in March.
Currently it is available on Oahu at Liquor Collection, Wine Stop, Ewa Pantry, and Tamura's. On premise it is available at Murphy's Bar & Grill Downtown Honolulu, all Big City Diner locations on Oahu and Duke's Waikiki during their afternoon concerts on Sundays.
