Air Force Clears F-15 Aircraft to Flight

HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE (KHNL) -- The Air Force has cleared 12 more active duty F-15 C/D aircraft for take off.

Officials say as of February, the inspections of all 84 assigned active duty F-15 aircraft are 100% complete.

Currently, 69 aircraft have been returned to flying status.  The remaining 15 still requires further engineering analysis.

The return to flight order follows more than three months of stand-down actions after an Air National Guard F-15C aircraft broke apart in flight during training in Missouri November 2007.
