KO OLINA (KHNL) -- After spending the last nine months away at college, Michelle Wie is back home.
But this trip is no vacation.
Michelle is all business, as she gets set to make her 2008 LPGA debut.
A year to forget for Michelle Wie.
Making just two cuts in eight tournaments she played in.
"My goal is to not think about last year," said Wie. "And to only think positively, and think about the future."
Her future starts this week.
At the fields open in Hawaii at Ko Olina.
Her biggest concern -- health.
Wie battled wrist injuries all last year, forcing her to withdraw from two tournaments.
"After such a major injury last year, it's never gonna be like the way it was before. But I accepted that fact, and it's as good as it can be right now."
But she says she is getting stronger.
Both physically and mentally.
She says college life has made her a more complete person.
And she wants to prove -- not to her critics -- but to herself, that she can regain her old form.
And there's no better place to do it, than in front of the home crowd.
"It's a really special experience to play in front of them, where a lot of the gallery, you know them personally. So it's definitely an emotion filled tournament, and it's gonna be a lot of fun."
