Pedestrian Critical Following Crash

HONOLULU (KHNL) -- An elderly woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition Thursday morning after she was struck by a car.

Police say the woman crossed the street without using the crosswalk near the intersection of South King and Kalakaua.

Emergency crews rushed the 68-year-old woman to the Queen's Medical Center.

She suffered injuries to her head and pelvis after flying about 30 feet due to the impact.

The driver of the car was 78.
