WAILUKU (KHNL) -- Playgrounds at several parks on Maui will be undergoing major improvements.

Graffitti removal and repairs to rubberized surfacing will begin soon at three parks around the island.

At Kalama Park, the existing structure damaged by vandalism and fire last week will be removed and replaced in April.

At Keopuolani Park, construction is continuing on the "Boundless" playground.  It's scheduled to be completed in June.

At Wailuku Heights park, repair work is scheduled to be completed in February.

Construction of a new playground recently began at Napili Park.  The park will remain open during the construction.

Park officials urged visitors to use caution and stay clear of the playground construction area.
