Makakilo Brush Fire Flares up Again

MAKAKILO (KHNL) -- A brush fire in Makakilo flared up again around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Firefighters thought they had it undercontrol.

It was first declared contained shortly after 2:00 p.m.

But three fire companies, a tanker and air one were all called back to fight the fire.

The fire scorched between 50 and 75 acres.

The cause of the fire has not been determined but fire officials believe a downed power line could be responsible.
