PINELLAS PARK, Florida (KHNL) -- To celebrate its 100th Anniversary, the Army Reserve rolled out a new incentive program to aid its soldiers in earning extra income and support its recruiting effort.

The Army Reserve Recruiter Assist Program (AR-RAP) is designed to increase the number of new soldiers recruited by allowing any Reserve Soldier to become qualified as Recruiter Assistants.

Soldiers who participate in the program can earn an extra $2,000 per new soldier they aid in joining the Army Reserve.

The Army Reserve hopes to increase its strength by 6,000 soldiers.
