HONOLULU (KHNL) -- All lanes on Ala Wai between McCully Street and Kalakaua Avenue are closed due to a broken water main Sunday night.
The Board of Water Supply says there is a large sink hole and the repair is extensive.
All traffic is being re-routed to other local streets.
Water service was restored to Waikiki Landmark Monday morning at 11 a.m.
BWS crew backfilled the open trench and cleared debris from the road.
Grace Pacific is repairing Ala Wai between McCully Street and Kalakaua Avenue.
Work will continue through the afternoon rush hour and into the evening.
The contractor estimates roadwork should be completed by 8 p.m. Monday night.
