(KHNL) -- A Hawaii based soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom is killed.
The Department of Defense says 26-year-old Spc. Jon M. Schoolcraft, III, of Wapakoneta, Ohio, died Jan. 19 in Taji, Iraq, of wounds sustained when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device.
He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
