HONOLULU (KHNL) -- Hawaii lawmakers and fans honored UH's three WAC championship teams Wednesday afternoon at the State Capitol.
Besides the Warriors, of course, the women's volleyball and soccer teams were also honored.
Fans came for autographs and pictures, and the champions say they are humbled by the love and aloha showered upon them.
"I'm just thankful to the state and the senate and the house, and all the representatives for allowing us to be recognized like this," said Jessica Domingo, a UH soccer player.
"We came out for the fans," said Laupepa Letuli, a UH football player. "Again, the fans, we got to give back to everybody else. So, it's good to be here."
"We're so grateful and I believe our WAC championship is in debt to the state and all their support," said Raeceen Woolford, a UH volleyball player.
"No other team really in the country can say they have a whole people behind their team, no matter win or lose like we have here in Hawaii," said UH football player Austin Hansen.
Lawmakers say this is a proud day not only for UH athletics, but for the entire state of Hawaii.
