Soccer Balls to Spread Goodwill in Iraq

KAPOLEI (KHNL) -- More than 100 new soccer balls will be going to Iraq in February to help spread goodwill through the sport of soccer.

Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann accepted the gift of match balls from Outrigger Hotels today.

"Soccer is a world game and soccer is very popular in Iraq and we believe that it's a good way to interact with the community," said Max Sword, Vice-President of the Industry Affairs Outrigger Hotels.

The balls will be packed with the Second Batallion Third Marines who will be the next Hawaii based batallion deployed to Iraq
