Big City Diner Donates to UH Warrior Football Team

WAIPIO (KHNL) -- A locally owned restaurant chain is giving back to the University of Hawaii's Warrior football team.

Big City Diner will be selling tickets to the 2008 Cornerstone Hula Bowl at its Waipio and Pearlridge locations during appearances by All-Star Senior Warriors on Friday, January 11 at 3:30 p.m.

Game tickets are $20 each.  The diner will donate half of its proceed to the UH Warrior football team.

"We recognize the importance of the Hula Bowl in Hawaii and its longevity as being the longest running sporting event here," said Walter Enriquez, Corporate Director of Human Resources.  "Should in the event that the NFL Pro Bowl leave the islands, we as a state would need to support and help build other national or worldwide events that proactive opportunity lays before us now, why wait?"

Outgoing senior Warriors Jason Rivers, CJ Hawthorne, Hercules Satele, Michael Lafaele and Jacob Patek will make an appearance at the event.

They will play their final game in the 2008 Hula Bowl at Aloha Stadium Saturday, January 12.
