HPD Looking for Bank Robber

HONOLULU (KHNL) -- Honolulu police need your help to catch a bank robber.  

Investigators say a man attempted to rob two banks.  

They say the suspect tried to rob the Hawaii National Bank on Dillingham Boulevard Wednesday afternoon, but the teller was too afraid to give him any money and he walked out empty handed.

Later in the day, he struck again.

"About an hour later at 3:35, at American Savings Bank on Farrington Highway in Waipahu the same male entered with the same clothes entered the bank handed the teller a demand note and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money," said Sgt. Kim Buffet.

A witness watched him get into a white four door compact car.

He's described as a 20-year-old male weighing around 160 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a khaki jacket, blue jeans and blue tennis shoes with dark glasses.
