TB Testing Begins for Students and Staff at Roosevelt High

HONOLULU (KHNL) -- The Department of Health began testing about 160 students and staff at Roosevelt High School for tuberculosis Monday.

The DOH is conducting the tests after a student came down with TB.

The testing is taking place at the school campus.

The Department of Health says bacteria causes TB, which usually attacks the lungs.

A person infected with TB can spread the disease through the air when they cough or sneeze.
