State Receive Funds for Airports Improvements

HONOLULU (KHNL) -- The state received $717,500 to improve the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting stations at three Hawaii airports.

The Honolulu International Aiport will spend half a million dollars to design a new three-bay garage that provides sufficient clearance for the airport's new vehicles.

Lanai Airport and will use $112,500 to cover additional design costs involved in moving the current station to a new location that provides better visibility and access to the airfield.

Molokai Airport is given $105,000 to cover additional design costs needed to relocate the airport's current station to make it more efficient for staff to respond to airfield emergencies.
