HONOLULU (KHNL) -- A man charged with killing his wife at their Ewa Beach home earlier this year gave up his court fight Friday.
Forty-five-year-old Michael Schuette faces up to 20 years in prison, after he pleaded guilty to manslaughter. He says he was under extreme mental and emotional distress at the time.
According to court documents, he had an argument with his estranged wife in their backyard. An autopsy found 49-year-old Victoria Schuette suffocated.
Sentencing is scheduled for March.
