Fisherman Charged in Stabbing Death on Boat

HONOLULU (KHNL) -- A fisherman accused of killing a man on a boat docked at Honolulu Harbor made his first court appearance in the case Thursday.

Police rushed to Pier 36 Tuesday morning, and found 34-year-old Bright Obed lying face down on the fishing vessel 'Vui Vui.' He suffered several stab wounds and died at the scene.

Twenty-six-year-old Taniera Takentarawa is charged with murder.

Court documents say he was drinking on the boat and attacked Obed, after Obed came on board and drank a beer.

The suspect's bail is set at $150,000.
