(KHNL) -- We want to check in on what's happening on the Valley Isle, for that we toss things over to the Pacific Radio Group, Wendy Osher.
WENDY OSHER: The situation in Maui continues with the inclement weather. The flash flood warning is in effect until 11:45 AM dumping four inches of rain over the Lahaina area.
Most of Maui that is being effected right now is Lahaina and Kihei so south Maui and west Maui areas feeling the brunt of that storm.
No main arteries are effected on the roadways except for post 16 of the Honoapiilani Highway where Maui police department is directing traffic where ponding continues to pose a problem over there. There are also reports of ponding and debris on lower Honoapiilani Highway.
The Maui police department says they don't remember the rain being this bad for quite a while so motorists are asked to drive with caution.
There are also been reports of lightning in Lahaina, lightning strikes so residents there are advised to stay indoors.
As for the power, all of Kihei and Wailea are out of power at this hour. They lost power at 9:40 Wednesday morning. No estimated time on when that power will be back up.
In Kula, 3200 customers remain without power since early Wednesday morning.
