Haiku, Maui (KHNL) -- High winds and loose branches forced officials to close more parks on Maui.
Officials closed the 4th Marine Divison Memorial Park Tuesday afternoon after numerous trees, rain-soaked ground and windy conditions presented a safety hazard.
Hookipa Beach Park is closed again but officials say the park will be assessed on a day-to-day basis. Ocean safety officers will decide to open or close the park depending on weather and surf conditions.
Baldwin Beach Park remains close. Crews are working to board up the men's bathroom which sustained heavy damage by high surf on Monday.
The picinic area was also affected by the waves. Officials say the floor of the pavilion is strewn with pieces of coral and covered with about two feet of sand.
