Man Accused of Trying to Kill Moped Rider Awaiting Charges

HONOLULU (KHNL) -- A 21-year-old man, accused of trying to kill a moped rider, remains in Honolulu police custody.

Police say a man was riding his moped on Lusitana Street Thursday night, when he honked his horn at the suspect, who was driving a car. Investigators say the suspect, Willliam Terry, let the moped pass, then hit it with his car from behind.

The rider was thrown from the moped, and suffered head injuries and a possible collapsed lung. He was last reported to be in critical condition.
