(KHNL) -- The Hawaii County Civil Defense issued a public safety update for the Kona District.
The state and county road crews report that all roads are open Thursday morning. They ask that residents continue to drive with caution as some debris still needs to be cleared. This is especially on Highway 11 near the 105 mile post area.
The Department of Water Supply is continuing to restore water to all areas of Kona. Areas still without water or with low pressure are the areas between Napoopoo north to Kealakekua.
Water has been restored Thursday morning to all schools. All Kona public schools will operate as normal.
The Hawaii Electric Light Company reports that there are still some scattered areas of South Kona without power. This was caused by several lightning hits on transmission and distribution circuits. Helco reports that thousands were affected throughout Wednesday and about 150 customers still remain without power. Crews are working to complete the repairs. The Hawaii Electric Light Company asks that if you are still without power, please call their Trouble Desk at 969-6666.Tthe National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for the Island of Hawaii. This is due to the possibility of rains reoccurring later on Thursday.
