DENVER (KHNL) -- University of Hawaii football player Davone Bess apologized to Nevada fans for his behavior following the game between Hawaii and the University of Nevada in which Hawaii won 28-26.

At the end of the game in Reno on November 16, Bess ran into the endzone and taunted Nevada fans that were seated in the stands.

WAC commissioner Karl Benson said Bess's actions violated the WAC sportsmanship code and he could be suspended if this type of action continues.

In his apology, Bess said "it was an emotional win and my actions were inappropriate. I can assure you that it will not happen again."
