Highlights from First Half of UH, Boise State Football Game

HALAWA (KHNL) -- Chopper 8 Friday evening over a packed Aloha Stadium.

50,000 people cheering on the Warriors.

Before game time, it was a traffic nightmare.

Thousands flooded into Pearl City for some holiday shopping while a couple miles down the road, thousands more battled for one of the 8,000 stalls at the stadium.

While it is Black Friday at malls island wide, it is green Friday at Aloha Stadium and across the state.

The Warriors are playing live on national television.

Are they one of the best teams in the country?

We too have been glued to our radios listening to the action from inside Aloha Stadium. Let's get right to it. Here are the highlights of the game so far.

We start with Boise State getting on the board first with a nice touchdown run for Ian Johnson. Boise State up 7 to zero.

Hawaii with a quick touchdown of their own. Then Hawaii scores again. Colt Brennan with a short quarterback sneak. Hawaii up 13 to 7 the extra point is blocked.

Than Boise State answer with a touchdown of its own. Again, Ian Johnson, Boise up 14 to 13.

Before the close of the first half Brennan steps back and finds Davon Bess for the touchdown. But again the extra point is blocked. And Hawaii with a 19-14 lead.

Then Brotzman for the field goal 17-19.

With a minute 40 left in the half.

So at halftime, a tight one at Aloha Stadium. The Warriors with a manini lead only two points Hawaii 19 Boise State 17.
