DLNR Reopens Oahu Leeward Forest Reserves

HONOLULU (KHNL) -- Oahu residents can once again enjoy leeward forest reserves.  The Department of Land and Natural Resources reopens all state forest reserves in the Waianae mountains, effective Saturday, November 24.

The reopening includes the Kuaokala, Mokuleia, Makua-Keaau and Waianae Forest Reserves and the Kuaokala game management area.

DLNR officials say improved weather conditions and regular maintenance are the reasons the forest reserves are back open.
