Pedestrian Killed in East Oahu Identified

EAST OAHU (KHNL) -- We now know the name of the elderly pedestrian killed in Thursday's crash in East Oahu.

On Friday, the Honolulu Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as 85-year-old Charles Ma.

Police say Ma was walking across Kalanianaole Highway near Waa Street in a marked crosswalk, when a car slammed into him. The driver, an 82-year-old woman, was not hurt.

Investigators say the crash did not involve speed or alcohol.
