Crash Victim Dies, Police Continue Search for Driver

HONOLULU (KHNL) -- A military man who was the victim of a hit-and-run crash near the Honolulu International Airport over the weekend has died from his injuries.

The Medical Examiner identifies him as 36-year-old John Jackson.

Investigators say a van plowed into Jackson and an 18-year-old man as they were hooking up a trailer to a car on the side of Kamehameha Highway near Ohohia Street.

Police are still looking for the van's driver, who ran away from the scene.

The 18-year-old is in stable condition at the Queen's Medical Center. A 40-year-old woman, who was sitting in the car at time of the crash, was treated and released.
