WAHIAWA (KHNL) -- Two bodies were found Sunday on Oahu. Now police are trying to piece together what led to the deaths.
In both cases firefighters were called into recover the remains. One body was found at a popular trail earlier this afternoon. The other body was pulled from the water just behind businesses in Wahaiwa.
Rescuers got the call at about 4:30 Sunday afternoon. A man cleaning up behind a shop he works at came across the body while sweeping up some debris. The backs of the shops on Wilikina Drive in Wahiawa sit on a bank along Lake Wilson.
Cristino Rojo and others said they smelled something foul more than two days ago but didn't think much of it. It is not known how long the body was in the water or how it got there. Police on the scene were unable to answer questions.
"It was a man about six-two or -four, about 180 to 220-240 pounds," said Cristino Rojo. "It smelled like a stench smell, a fish I thought it was a dead fish or something. I didn't think it would be a corpse or dead body like that."
