Waimanalo Man Arrested in Connection with Kailua Hit & Run

KALIHI (KHNL) -- Five days after a hit-and-run crash sent a bicyclist to the hospital in critical condition, Honolulu police make an arrest in the case.

On Wednesday, officers in Kalihi arrested Hansen Apo of Waimanalo on suspicion of negligent injury and failure to render aid. Police say the 20-year-old was also booked on five warrants.

Investigators believe Apo was driving the SUV that struck a 35-year-old woman who was walking her bike across the street. The victim was in a marked crosswalk at the time.
