(KHNL) - Two people aboard the Summit cruise ship died while the vessel was en route from San Diego to Hawaii. The two bodies were taken to the medical examiner's office after the vessel docked in Honolulu Harbor Wednesday morning.
Celebrity Cruises spokesman Michael Sheehan says an 83-year-old man had an apparent heart attack and a 40-year-old woman had "cancer issues."
Both died Sunday and both passengers are unrelated.
Officials say the two fatalities aren't expected to interfere with the ship's schedule.
The Summit is scheduled to leave for Maui. It's to arrive on the Big Island on Sunday and set sail for San Diego later in the day.
