Hawaii Red Cross Volunteers Deploy to Assist California Wildfires

HONOLULU (KHNL) -  Three volunteers from the Hawaii State Chapter are deploying to Southern California to join the American Red Cross relief effort in response to the wildfires.

Esther Lau and Jerry Brown from Oahu, along with Bob Hartman from Maui, will be going to support various aspects of the relief operation.

They will be working with affected families to provide emergency assistance with health services and shelter support.

This group is part of a national network of Red Cross disaster volunteers who are trained to deploy to large relief operations for up to three week assignments.

Community members interested in becoming local or national disaster volunteers should contact their nearest Red Cross office.
