HONOLULU (KHNL) - Coast Guard rescue crews are searching for a missing Waipahu man 30 miles west of Oahu.

Officials say 56-year-old Charles Wilson is presumed missing after a Coast Guard helicopter crew spotted his 25-foot sailing vessel disabled and adrift 30 miles west of Waianae.

A Coast Guard rescue swimmer was lowered from the helicopter to assess the situation onboard the vessel; he found no one aboard but located a pack of flares with one flare missing.

Mr. Wilson is 5'11" tall and weighs 230 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen at Keehi Boat Harbor on the 9th or 10th of October. Police say that Wilson was intending to move the H2O IQ from Keehi to Waianae Boat Harbor.

The Coast Guard cutter Kiska towed the vessel to port.
