Maui Man Found Guilty of Electronic Enticement of a Child

HONOLULU (KHNL) - A Maui man was found guilty Monday of Electronic Enticement of a Child in the First Degree.

Earnest Luther Roberts faces a maximum sentence of ten years in prison.

Under a new sentencing law, Roberts also faces a minimum sentence of five years probation with a one year prison term as a condition of probation. He must also register as a sex offender.

This is the second case under the new sentencing law in which a Maui man has been found guilty of Electronic Enticement of a Child in the State of Hawaii.  The first being Robert John McKnight last month.

Sentencing for Roberts is set for December 28.  Bail remains at $50,000.
