WAIANAI (KHNL ) -- A deadly accident on the west side of Oahu electrocuted a man. The 33-year-old driver of a dump truck knocked over a telephone pole sending the electrical lines with it. As he tried to escape, he came into contact with the live wires and was killed.
The single vehicle crash left hundreds in the Waianae community without power.
Power lines were still dangling around the truck. The accident left about eight hundred 20 customers without power around the Puuhulu and Puhawai area. Hawaiian Electric Company responded to the situation to help shut off the power.
