(KHNL) - Hawaii's oldest cycling event is underway. Beginning at 6:15 Sunday morning, avid bicyclists gathered at Kapiolani Park and started making their way towards Kailua's Swanzy Beach Park.
This year's event is expected to have over 4,000 participants coming from all over the world. Traveling down Kalanianaole Highway and then up to Swanzy Beach Park, each participant gets to enjoy the unmistakable view that is Hawaii.
There will be various turnaround points at 25 miles, 50 miles, 75 miles and then 100 miles.
Drivers are being asked to use caution while driving down Kalanianaole. Though there are to be no road closures, one lane in each direction will be coned off for the bikers.
