MANOA (KHNL)- The Warrior football team's top gun is back, and ready to get back on the field.
Quarterback Colt Brennan says his sprained right ankle is feeling better, as he returned to practice this week.
It's a familiar and welcome sight.
The visor and the orange number 15 is back at practice.
But now, Colt Brennan has also got a heavily taped right ankle.
"It's good. I've been practicing on it, so i mean, from that standpoint it's good, but i go through my ups and downs. I tweak it here, do something here," says Colt Brennan.
"Feels great. Just to have him back. Just to have him come out and play, put some confidence back in him, to feel the game around him. Just do what he does," says Hercules Satele, Warriors Guard.
What he does -- run the warriors high octane passing attack.
Despite missing last Saturday's game because of the sprained ankle, Brennan is still among the top ten in the country in passing yards, completion percentage, and touchdowns.
"I don't know what was more nerve racking, playing in the game or having to sit out and watch.
This week i'm just glad to get back, just throwing the ball. just being back in the swing of things," says Brennan.
That means a full week of practice, as the warriors prepare for WAC foe Idaho.
Brennan vows to be ready.
"I was ready to go this past saturday, and it's crazy what game day adrenaline does to you. and you know, I'll be ready to go for this saturday for sure, and probably won't have that much pain," says Colt.
And that could be painful for the Vandals.
The game is on Saturday, at 11-05 a.m. Hawaii Time.
It's being carried live on pay per view.
We'll have the replays on our sister station, K5 the home team, at 9:35 Saturday Night.
