Funeral Services for Hawaii Soldier Killed in Iraq

(KHNL) - A Hawaii soldier killed in Iraq will be laid to rest.

The family of 28-year-old Alexander Gagalac will hold a visitation and Mass at the St. John Apostle and Evangelist Church in Mililani at 9 a.m. on September 27.

Following the Mass, an Honors ceremony and the burial will take place at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.

All services are open to the public.

Gagalac was killed in combat when a rocket-propelled grenade blew up in Hawijah, Iraq.

He was assigned to the Second Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, Third Brigade, at Schofield Barracks.
