SOUTH KOHALA (KHNL) - It was a punch that had a tragic result.

Hawaii Island police say a man's eye had to be removed - after a road rage fight.

It happened in south Kohala on Wednesday.

Officers say the suspect and the victim were traveling in separate cars when the victim gestured for the suspect to pull over.

That's when police say 25-year-old Alfred Berdon III punched the victim once in the left eye.

The 23-year-old victim's sunglasses shattered and injured his eye so badly that doctors had to remove it.
